A young children's product called Pillow Pets are one of the best selling children's products for 2009 and so far in 2010. In fact so many moms and dads ordered them as Christmas gifts for their children last year, it was bought out in many retailers and on the web as well.
What really makes these toys for children so special? At first look , it seems similar to any normal cute stuffed animal to moms and dads. But, the special feature about Pillow Pets is they could pop open into pillows that kids can utilize to relax or sleep on. This reason is why the toy is called a Pillow Pet.
This is achieved using Velcro straps. When you unattach the Velcro belt, the Pillow Pet will automatically pop open and become a pillow. To return it back into a soft stuffed animal again, you simply reconnect the Velcro fastening.
Through this twin role and an advertisement that has a catchy tune, countless kids have asked their parents for one. I have heard of the many parents becoming annoyed because their children were singing the Pillow Pets song that goes, "It's a pillow. It's a pet. It's a Pillow Pet." all the time.
A mom of two in San Diego was the original inventor of the Pillow Pets. The reason was that she was tired of her children leaving their stuffed toys throughout their rooms and the house. So she decided she was going to make a stuffed toy which was also an useful item. Later on she came up with the idea that it would be a pillow.
As a result, she ended up making a millionaire dollar industry and Pillow Pets are being sold in merchants nationwide. The first product line only had six various animals but has now expanded to over 30 different Pillow Pets. Also, complementary items including backpacks, blankets, slippers and also storybooks were released because of the initial success.
Pillow Pets comes in 2 different sizes. The large sized ones are 18 inches wide while the little ones are 11 inches. The big Pillow Pets typically sell for approximately $20 dollars but the rare Pillow Pets that are often sold out have selling for a lot more on sites such as eBay.
